About Hot to Trot Racing

Welcome to our Hot To Trot Racing website!

We are an affordable syndicate that aims to provide our members with the thrill of racing horses at the highest of levels but for a fraction of the cost.

Founded in 2011 by Sam Hoskins and Luke Lillingston, Hot To Trot have had at least five horses in training every season since with recent stars including Heartache, who took the 2017 Queen Mary Stakes (Group 2) at Royal Ascot, 2019 Coral Charge (Group 3) winner Kurious, and most recently Group 1 placed Get Ahead. Hot To Trot Racing’s horses are leased which keeps the quality of horse up but the cost of acquiring them down.

Hot To Trot wishes to introduce as many new people to the sport of kings and to extend the interest of those who are already involved. We now have a ‘Hot To Trot Jumping’ group to run alongside the two Flat Racing groups ‘HotToTrot1’ and ‘2Hot2Trot’. The cost for an all-inclusive share in any of the syndicates is £2,350. Membership numbers will be capped at 80 for each group (90 for Hot To Trot Jumping) and members will be accepted on a first come first served basis. To get involved or for any further questions, please contact Sam Hoskins (sam@hottotrotracing.com / 07791 746119).

Benefits of membership to any of our three syndicates include..

  • At least five horses in training with some of the leading trainers in the UK.
  • Regular and in depth news bulletins on all the horses.
  • Complimentary badges or ballot entry for all members attending when we have a runner.
  • Stable visits and many other specially organised events throughout the year.
  • Complimentary lunch/ticket for our annual end of season lunch.
  • A pro-rata dividend of all prizemoney won.
  • A membership restricted to 80 members (90 for Hot To Trot Jumping).
  • Lots of fun guaranteed!

Our Events

  • Don't miss out! This is a great opportunity to get involved in ownership without spending a fortune. Being involved in Hot to Trot has been hugely enjoyable and exciting - racing our horses (and sometimes winning!), stable visits, stud visits and more... Brilliantly organised and tremendous fun!

  • We joined when Sam and Luke started Hot to Trot and have always had terrific fun. Apart from the racing they organise really interesting things to do, i.e lunch in The Jockey Club Rooms where there is a fantastic collection of Equine pictures, and stable tours which are always informative and amusing.

  • "Both Sam and Luke have extensive knowledge and contacts in the bloodstock and racing world. This has enabled them to access some tremendous fillies over the past six years, with 2017 being outstanding. The success ratio for this year for wins and places is fantastic so far with Heartache, Golden Salute and Deviate achieving so much for, relatively, so little. Surely, there can be no other racing syndicate producing as much "bang per buck" for all round enjoyment."

  • I don't think we could have ever imagined that we would be standing in the Winners Enclosure at the Royal Meeting at Ascot and yet with Hot to Trot and Heartache 'Dreams Do Come True'..

  • I think HTT is a brilliant example of how a syndicate can work and get more people into racehorse ownership. It would be great for the HTT2 members if Emily Post can do the business today. Keep up the great work.
