Flemish (IRE)
Flemish (IRE)
2020 bay filly by Awtaad (IRE) ex Flanders (IRE) (Common Grounds (GB))
This filly is by the Irish 2000 Guineas winner Awtaad, a young stallion who has sired Group winners such as Anmaat and Al Qareem, along with several black type fillies. The dam, Flanders, was a very fast, very talented racemare who was a winner of six races, including a run of four in a row as a two year old. She was a tough filly who climbed the ranks, finishing second in the King’s Stand at Royal Ascot, at that point at Group 2 but now classed as a Group 1. She appears to have passed much of this toughness on to her offspring, with all but one of her runners being winners. She is the dam of G Force who won the Group 1 Haydock Sprint Cup and was rated 118 at his peak.
This filly is a fast-looking sort who, whilst not over big, is very athletic. She has settled in well to life with Tom Ward who feels that, on early inspection, she ought to be relatively precocious. She is leased from Kildaragh Stud in Ireland.
