Roseau City

2015 chesnut filly by Cityscape ex Dominica (Alhaarth (Ire))

Roseau City has shaped nicely in two hot Newmarket maidens to date and David has always been complimentary about her attitude. She is capable of breaking her maiden this autumn.

The filly is by the extremely tough Group 1 winner in Cityscape, a son of Selkirk who captured the public’s imagination by his consistent brilliance over many seasons in the Khalid Abdullah silks for Roger Charlton. She is a daughter of the diminutive but exceptional race filly Dominica, a superb 2yo before going onto win the King’s Stand Stakes (Royal Ascot) as a 3yo for Marcus Tregoning. Dominica herself is a daughter of the Temple Stables winner Dominio, who is in turn a half-sister to a Nunthorpe Stakes winner in Ya Malak – so it is a very fast family.

Trainer

David Elsworth

She is being trained by one of the legend’s of the turf that is David Elsworth and at one of Newmarket’s most historic yards in Egerton House Stables. ‘Elsy’ has tasted huge success under both codes most famously with that gallant grey Desert Orchid and is an amazing character to meet.
