A fruitful summer period up and down the country…
We have enjoyed an exciting run of things in the past month, with winners aplenty and lots of fun besides!
Our lucky run began with Dreamrocker at Ascot on 12th July, where she stayed on strongly in the final furlong to win under William Carver for trainer Ed Walker. She is a lovely big filly who had been third and second on her previous two starts, so she deserved to get her head in front!
It was then 2Hot2Trot’s turn to enjoy a winner, when Easy Peeler impressed on just her second run when winning at Catterick for John and Sean Quinn and ridden by Jason Hart. She is still maturing and showed signs of greenness, so it was fantastic to see her get the job done. She is a filly to look forward to later this season and the next.
The following day at Doncaster, lovely Cabrera also managed to break her maiden and took home over £21k in the process! It was a clever bit of placing from trainer Ed Bethell and she won comfortably in the end too under Callum Rodriguez. Cabrera is a big, scopey filly so there may be further improvement to come from her!
We couldn’t have dreamt that our week would get any better, but Rage Of Bamby topped off a brilliant few days with a sparkling performance in the valuable SkyBet Dash Handicap at York. She is a very talented filly and she seems to love York, but we were all amazed by the way that she demolished this competitive field! It was great to see her back to her best and the run has allowed us all to dream about what she might be capable of doing this season…
Finally, Skellig Isle got August off to a brilliant start when winning on her third start up at Nottingham under PJ McDonald. This filly has always been well liked by trainer Tom Ward but did surprise us a little when winning this competitive Fillies’ Maiden! She has come a long way in her short career so far and so we are looking forward to the future with her. This win was especially good fun as many of us were at Goodwood enjoying a picnic together – Skellig Isle could probably hear the cheering up in the Midlands!
It has been a fantastic month with these winners and some very good placed efforts too – long may this run of good form continue! With late summer targets such as York still to come in the next few weeks, the excitement isn’t slowing down any time soon…
