A stellar line up for 2023
The quality of horses offered to Hot To Trot to lease improves year on year and this has resulted in two truly outstanding groups of flat horses to race this season!
Hot To Trot 1 is headed up by Glorious Goodwood winner and Listed placed Get Ahead (Clive Cox) who has Listed and Group races in her sights this season.
She is joined by Sea Me Dance (Sean Woods), a lovely Sea The Stars filly who ran with great promise last autumn, Metric (David O’Meara) who was well liked by her trainer last season before meeting a setback, and a new recruit Sure Spirit (Sir Mark Prescott) who has already been seen out on the track this year and therefore will have plenty of experience under her belt by the time the turf season begins. Another new face for the Hot To Trot 1 members is Buganvillea (Henry Candy), a beautifully bred filly by Holy Roman Emperor, sire of our flag bearer of the past couple of seasons, Roman Mist. Buganvillea has been given time to mature and is a lovely prospect to race as a three year old.
The final newbie to join Hot To Trot 1 is Rinnovati (Eve Johnson-Houghton), a half-sister to our talented Rage Of Bamby and a hugely exciting addition to our team!
Rage Of Bamby (Eve Johnson Houghton) herself heads up 2 Hot To Trot, a star two year old from last year who we are hopeful can take us to some big days this season. Puntarelle (Jonathan Portman) finished behind Rage Of Bamby at Newbury before having an issue which kept her off the track for the rest of the season. She has done well for this extended break and we look forward to seeing her on the racecourse this spring.
Storymaker (George Boughey) was a later maturing type who impressed on her one and only run last year and could progress into a very nice filly this year.
The new additions to 2 Hot To Trot are all two year olds with endless potential! Apeeling (Andrew Balding) is by one of our favourite stallions in Showcasing and leased from Whitsbury Manor Stud, from whom we have leased many talented fillies over the years. Apeeling is a half-sister to the speedy Group 3 winner Good Vibes and has the physical quality to keep us dreaming!
Quite A Dream (Ollie Sangster) is also a sister to a Group 3 winner in Yulong Gold Fairy and could be a really exciting filly for her first-season trainer!
Finally, Flemish (Tom Ward) is a sharp filly out of the King’s Stand runner up Flanders; if she is half as fast as her mother, we will have a lot of fun with her!
