Exciting debut winner for Hot To Trot 1!
The members of Hot To Trot 1 had a hugely exciting day at Ascot on Friday with the much anticipated debut of two-year-old filly Get Ahead in the British Stallion Studs EBF Maiden Fillies’ Stakes over five furlongs. Trainer Clive Cox has always thought a lot of this filly, and he was thrilled with the electric performance she produced first time out! She showed fantastic speed and class to win easily under Adam Kirby, who reported that she will improve from her first run and that she still has plenty to learn. She will hopefully have one more run to get some experience before taking on some of the sharpest fillies in the country in the Group 2 Queen Mary Stakes at Royal Ascot in June. Hugely exciting times!!!
Get Ahead is by the speedy stallion Showcasing who stands at Whitsbury Manor Stud, who we lease this lovely filly from. We were very excited to be able to lease her due to her outstanding pedigree, being a full-sister to the very smart juvenile of last year Alkumait, as well as a half sister to the Listed winning The Broghie Man. Whitsbury also bred our Queen Mary winner Heartache (also trained by Clive Cox, ridden by Adam Kirby and led up by Kat!) so this feels like history repeating itself somewhat… We can dream for now!
Congratulations to the members of Hot To Trot 1 and breeders Whitsbury Manor Stud! Thank you to Clive Cox and his team for getting this lovely filly there in great shape, and to Adam Kirby for giving her a fantastic introduction to the racecourse.
