Last few spaces remain in Hot To Trot 2!
With the flat season in full swing and some of the two year olds almost ready to run, we are offering the last few spaces in Hot To Trot 2 for the 2021 season!
The older fillies leased by Hot To Trot 2 this year include the progressive One Small Step (Brian Meehan) and unexposed Mille Miglia (Clive Cox), and the two year olds are a really beautifully bred selection of horses.
Trouble Afoot (Roger Charlton) is an Acclamation filly out of the Listed winning Buying Trouble, who is herself out of a half-sister to two Group 1 winners, War of Will and Pathfork.
Emily Post is our first horse with young trained Ed Bethell, who has got his career off to a great start this season. The filly is by Charming Thought and out of Mary Read, a 103 rated two year old who finished second in the Group 3 Molcombe Stakes at Glorious Goodwood. Mary Read is the grand-dam of the all-weather star Kachy, and her half sister also produced the very talented Beat The Bank. A great family!
The third two year old filly to join the team is Dorothee, a full sister to multiple sprint Group 1 winner The Tin Man and a half-sister to another admirable horse in Deacon Blues. This is a family we know well, with the three year old sister being leased to Hot To Trot 1. We are delighted that Dorothee is in training with Charlie Fellowes, another young trainer making a great success of his career.
And finally, Plagiarise is a Showcasing filly out of Copy-Cat, a half-sister to the high class sprinter Averti. Copy-Cat was a mare with real character (read more about her in our news piece with Whitsbury Manor Stud’s Ed Harper!) and she has been a fantastic broodmare, producing Group 3 winning Pastoral Player and Listed winner Chil The Kite; 9 of her 10 runners have been winners! Plagiarise is in training with Hughie Morrison, who trained Pastoral Player and Chil The Kite, and she seems to be well-liked by him at this stage.
Hot To Trot 2 have a fantastic team of fillies this year- we can’t wait to see the two year olds on the track especially! We have a brilliant programme of events planned (to make up for a very virtual 2020!) as well as the regular gallops mornings and days out at the races. We are down to our last couple of spaces in this syndicate (Hot To Trot 1 has sold out) so if you would like to be involved for the 2021 season, please don’t delay and get in touch to register your interest.
