Daffodil Day (IRE)
Daffodil Day (IRE)
2022 Grey filly by Dark Angel ex White Daffodil (Footstepsinthesand)
This eye-catching filly is by a leading sire of sprinters in Dark Angel, sire of countless Group 1 winners including Battash, Harry Angel and this year’s Champions Sprint winner Art Power. Another of these top-class sprinters is Khaadem who won the Group 1 Queen Elizabeth II Jubilee Stakes at Royal Ascot last year and who is a full brother to this filly. The dam, White Daffodil, was a five furlong two-year-old winner herself and aside from Khaadem, has also produced another Group performing sprinter in Log Out Island (another full sibling to our filly).
Daffodil Day is a cracking filly with everything going for her, and she was bought back in for 320,000 guineas at the elite Tattersalls Book 1 Sale in October. She is a good moving scopey filly who is bred to be very fast but she has taken time to come to hand over the past twelve months. Trainer Clive Cox has been very patient with her and we are over the moon to have her to race in our silks – let’s hope she can be lucky for us and her breeders Yeomanstown Stud.
