2021 Bay filly by Muhaarar ex Zamzama (Shamardal)
Zambezi Diamond is by the multiple Group 1 winning sprinter Muhaarar, sire of last year’s French 2000 Guineas winner Marhaba Ya Sanafi amongst other good horses. She is out of the Shamardal mare Zamzama, herself a daughter of the very talented Nassau Stakes (Group 1) winner Zahrat Dubai so it is a lovely pedigree!
This is a very attractive and easy moving filly and, being a three year old, she has a lot of work under her belt having been given plenty of time as a two year old. She will be ready to make her debut in the coming weeks!
Henry Candy has trained Classic winners and Group 1 stars aplenty from his Kingston Warren (outside Lambourn) yard across his long and esteemed career. In recent years, Henry has trained the likes of sprinters Limato and Twilight Son to Group 1 success, as well as Hot To Trot’s Kurious, a Group 3 winning filly. One of Henry’s best current horses Run To Freedom is also by Muhaarar so we know he likes our filly’s sire!
