Mercutia (GB)
Mercutia (GB)
2022 Bay filly by Sergei Prokofiev ex Mutoon (Erhaab)
This filly is another daughter of Sergei Prokofiev and out of Mutoon, the dam of several precocious horses. Alabama Whitman finished fourth in the Group 3 Coventry Stakes at Royal Ascot, while another half-sister to our filly New Collection was a dual Listed winning two-year-old in Italy.
Mercutia unfortunately picked up an injury early in her first race which kept her off the track for much of the season, but is now ready to go on and continue her education on the track. She is leased from Whitsbury Manor Stud who have leased us so many good horses over the years.

Trainer
Jack is another young trainer with a bright future, having taken over the licence from his father (former England footballer and Group 1 winning trainer) Mick at the start of last year. His first season was hugely promising, training 49 winners and finishing third in the Oaks with Caernarfon as well as enjoying a big handicap winner at Glorious Goodwood.
Jack trains at the historic West Ilsley Stables, formerly owned by our late Queen Elizabeth II and from where many Classic and Group 1 winners have been trained. The yard is blessed with outstanding grass gallops and is based conveniently just off the M4/A38.
