2021 Grey filly by Phoenix Of Spain ex Island Remede (Medicean)
Cabrera is a lovely new filly by the exciting young sire Phoenix Of Spain, winner of the Irish 2000 Guineas beating Too Darn Hot. The dam, Island Remede, was a highly rated Group 3 placed stayer and has already produced a smart horse in Post Impressionist in her short breeding career to date.
Cabrera is a three-year-old and was therefore ready to crack on with this spring. She has made a promising start giving us lots to look forward to!
Ed is a young trainer based at Thorngill Stables in the Yorkshire training centre of Middleham, where he took over from his father James in 2021 having gained racing and bloodstock experience all over the world, including with Gai Waterhouse and Charlie Hills. He has made an eye-catching start to his training career, gaining Listed and Group 3 success in his first season with a license. Regional provided Ed with his first Group 1 when taking the Haydock Sprint Cup last season, an impressive feat at such an early stage of a trainer’s career!
