A fantastic couple of weeks for Hot To Trot with two winners – One Small Step (pictured) and Roman Mist. One Small Step is a filly who has given the syndicate a great deal of fun, nearly always finishing in the money, but we were very glad to see her get her head in front for the second time – she definitely deserved to win! Trainer Brian Meehan was confident that a step up in trip would bring about some improvement and he was proved correct! She won comfortably at Windsor under Pat Dobbs with the much-fancied favourite behind her in second. This win was all the more special for having a good number of members present, and an enthusiastic crowd to cheer One Small Step home!

Roman Mist is another wonderfully consistent filly who always tries her best, and we were confident of a big run over the same course and distance that she had won over in the spring! She had a nice allowance for being a 3 year old against older horses, and powered clear in the final furlong under a confident Richard Kingscote. This filly is a delight to have in training and is much loved among the Tom Ward team, always trying her best and so we couldn’t have been more delighted to see her win on Thursday. She definitely seems to love Nottingham!
